RandoMax Radio Presents: Wu-Wednesday #43
Episode forty-three of the RandoMax Radio Wu-Wednesdays series isn’t going to be for everyone, but if you happen to fall into the exact demographic that may derive enjoyment from such ridiculous endeavors, this will be extremely your shit. Remember how last week’s entry focused on what I referred to as the “b-team” of Wu-Tang affiliates? Well, this time I’m falling down further into the rabbit hole, making sure to scrape against each sharp rock and crevice my limbs come across, as I present to you the Wu-Tang “z-team”. This (admittedly silly, kind of dismissive in a way I don't really mean) indicator is reserved for every single motherfucking Wu-Tang Clan affiliate who wasn’t a part of any of the groups we focused on last week, and that leaves a whole hell of a lot of artists to cover, which is why this week’s episode is twice as long as usual, but even its twenty tracks barely scratch the surface of the group’s lore.
And, obviously, there’s some other nerdy shit to be found here that many older Wu heads will both appreciate and understand. You’ll love it, I swear, and who knows, you might end up finding a new fave mixed in with all of these artists who have not a whole heck of a lot in common aside from the one thing.
There are forty-two previous episodes of the Wu-Wednesdays side project, but only the most recent are available on the Mixcloud site. The rest, or at least the songs featured wherein, live on at the RandoMax Radio Spotify channel, with tracks (the available ones, anyway – physical media is king) being added to the playlist as they get taken down elsewhere. Give it a look when you get a chance and tell anybody you know who may enjoy something like this – I appreciate every little bit of support you can offer.
Enjoy!
-Max
