That's right, we've somehow made it to the twelfth episode of the Max-Approved Mixtape, a monthly podcast-slash-mix show-slash-thing featuring only songs that I personally approve of. That may seem rather narcissistic of me, but if you're reading these words then you're likely familiar with the rest of my writing, so this shouldn't be much of a shock. Besides, isn't this what every mixtape deejay does in a way? How many playlists have you stumbled upon where the intent was for the deejay to present songs that they thought were fucking terrible? And would you even click 'play' on that if you found it?
Anyway, back to music I think you both will actually like. Episode 12 of the Max-Approved Mixtape features ten hip hop tracks that I found bathing with nymphs in that mystical-looking forest behind your grandparents' house, each lifted from various eras of our beloved culture and compiled in a manner that gives each song some new context to work within. There is no expiration date on good music, but perhaps some of these have slipped your mind, so you may find some pleasant surprises within the tracklist below.

4. 7L & Esoteric - "Be Alert" (featuring Beyonder and Virtuoso)
5. Quelle Chris - "PSA Drugfest 2003 / Sleeveless Minks"

10. Dr. Dre - "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang (Freestyle Remix)" (featuring Snoop Doggy Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound)
Share this one with every single person you come in contact with. It may be tricky, considering the pandemic isn't really over yet, but life finds a way, right?
Until next post,
-Max
